Mattiwilda, forgotten no more

I am glad to see that Martin Bernheimmer has profiled Mattiwilda Dobbs in the current Feb. 2007 issue of Opera News magazine. Dobbs lived through extraordinary times as an artist and human being, and historically her accomplishments were at least as significant as those of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. I was privileged to have spoken to Ms. Dobbs a few years back, and parts of our conversation can still be found here.
